COMPENDIUM MAJOR TOPIC ONE: NERVOUS FUNCTION:
Good complete compendiums. I think you could incorporate more images and give sources of your images. Also, a bit of formatting with a table of contents at the start would be hepful.

COMPENDIUM MAJOR TOPIC TWO: MOVEMENT:

LAB MAJOR TOPIC ONE: LEECH NEURONS:
Nice job here.

LAB MAJOR TOPIC TWO: MUSCLE FUNCTION:
Nice job on getting data…didn’t see any pictures of doing the lab. What do you think happens when your hand gets cold that would make the muscle fatigue more…what is different at the chemical or cellular level? Perhaps chemical reactions go slower in cold, like cycling calcium or getting oxygen/glucose to muscle?

LAB PROJECT: LIMB MODEL:
Nice limb model—amazing anatomically complete. I don’t quite see the functional part in terms of how muscles contract to move across the joint. You do show one image with actin/myosin contracting…but how does that fit on the limb. Also the neuron sub-model or an action potential to trigger muscle is missing.

ETHICAL ISSUE ESSAY: ACTIVITY AND EXERCISE:
Thanks for this interesting perspective—so great to get started on sports in school…I think that must make it easier to keep up?

Brandi, good work on this unit. I can tell you are getting the basic idea of all the assignments and learning the basics of the material…just some small details would make for a perfect unit!
